We work closely with Technical Departments, Procurement Managers and Shipping Companies to ensure that spare parts packages are delivered on time and our Engineers can undertake the services required by vessels within the required time.

After liaising with the vessel Superintendent and supplying overhaul spare parts in advance of docking, Stone Marine Shipcare recently completed a Nakashima TCT-150 Bow Thruster Overhaul in Turkey.

With the unit removed and tolerances checked, the overhaul was successfully completed within a tight docking period. Static & Operational Tests showed the unit to be fully operational before the vessel departed.

Despite the high demands placed on this thrust unit the condition was good and no blade damage found. We noted that regular inspection records had been kept by this vessel and the service history had been maintained as per the recommendation of the OEM.

We so often see that OEM recommendations are ignored, and the operational life of a system will often suffer as a result. This only serves to increase costs in the long term.
